How to Change STAR+PLUS Medicaid Plans
If your current health plan is leaving the Harris Service Area, you’ll need to select a new plan to continue receiving your STAR+PLUS benefits.
- Watch Your Mail: The Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) will notify you by mail if you need to choose a new health plan. They’ll send you a packet with information about each available plan.
- Make a Decision: If you don’t choose a plan by July 1, 2024, HHSC will choose one for you. Be sure to review the information from HHSC and make your choice before the deadline.
- Keep Your Contact Information Updated: If you’ve moved or changed your phone number, update your contact information with HHSC by visiting the Your Texas Benefits website or calling 2-1-1.
